Malta besteht aus einer Reihe von Inseln – Malta, Gozo, Comino, Cominotto und Filfla – im Mittelmeer südlich von Sizilien. Mit einer Fläche von 246 Quadratkilometern ist Malta die größte Insel; die Fläche Gozos beträgt 67 Quadratkilometer, und Comino umfasst drei Quadratkilometer.
