We have enquired with the Police Department and the procedure is now as follows:
Application:
A valid Transitlog including the name of the applicant, 4 photographs and a completed application (presently in Turkish, downloadable from http://www.bodrum.pol.tr/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=28 , downloaded spreadsheet to be seen in attachment to this mail) are handed in at the local police office. The issuing of the residency permit will take about 2 weeks at most and the permit will be terminated with the last validity date of the Transitlog or 1 year - whichever comes first.
Costs:
1) A onetime charge for the "Permit Booklet" over TL 172.00.
2) A charge over TL 268.40, levied only from those applicants who have travelled to Turkey on visa waiver, speak, without a visa. Visa holders are exempted from this charge.
3) A charge between USD 30 - USD 80 based on citizencyship.
All the info above is believed to be correct but is based on verbal information and should be reconfirmed from case to case.
Fair winds, we continue to have unsettled weather here.
